Jachowski Lab Project: Investigating capture techniques and resource selection of patch-nosed salamanders in Georgia and South Carolina streams.

Chelsea joined the Jachowski Freshwater Conservation Ecology Lab in the Spring of 2021. Prior to joining the lab, she worked as a Herpetology Technician for the Jones Center at Ichauway in Georgia. While there, Chelsea assisted in two long term mark–recapture studies for snakes and gopher tortoises in the Longleaf Pine ecosystem. She has also worked as an environmental educator at the Elachee Nature Center in Georgia. Chelsea has a passion of fostering conservation, exploring montane habitat, and investigating cryptic herpetofauna, like the elusive patch–nosed salamander. In her personal time, Chelsea likes to read adventure books, explore Appalachian trails and streams, fly fish, and kayak with her dog, Koda.
